Mothers Day 5k “Run For Her Life”

We all know someone who has been touched by Breast Cancer. Early detection is the key to successful treatment and that can only begin with High Quality Mammography Imaging. Proceeds from the Mother’s Day 5k Run/Walk was donated to the United Way with the specific purpose of funding the Randolph County Health Department Mammography program. Several Smile Dental team members participated in the 5k!

Sarah joined the Smile Dental team in February of 2012. Her goal as a hygienist is to ensure her patients have all the knowledge available to keep their smile healthy for a lifetime. She enjoys working in a partnership with her patients to promote good oral health.

Sarah was raised in Salisbury and graduated from Salisbury High School in 2003. She is married to Clint, who is an operator at Thomas Hill Power Plant. They have one son, Clayton and a yellow Labrador. She enjoys spending time with her family, going camping and being on the lake.

In honor of Dental Health Month, Community Daycare brought students to tour our office. Dr. Liebhart discussed the importance of good brushing and flossing habits. Children also recieved new toothbrushes and paste.

Dr. Carl Liebhart and the Smile Dental Team are collecting shoes for the Shoeman Water Project. Put your old tennis shoes to good use creating fresh clean drinking water in third world countries. We will be collecting shoes in the office entrance during business hours until Christmas. For more information on how the shoes are turned into water check out. www.shoeman.org

Dental Screening and Fluoride Treatments at Moberly Elementary Schools

Dental decay is one of the most common, chronic, infectious diseases affecting children in the United States today, though in most instances, can be easily prevented. As a result of the Preventive Services Program, schools across the state of Missouri are recognizing the need for greater involvement in the prevention of dental diseases by taking part in overseeing the oral health of the children they serve. Moberly Public Schools participate in this program. On October 21, Dr Kent Johnson and Dr Carl Liebhart of Smile Dental, along with his staff, provided dental screenings, fluoride varnish and referrals for the children at North Park, South Park and Gratz Brown Elementary Schools. This Spring the children will receive their second application of fluoride varnish, completing their participation in PSP for the 2011-2012 school-year.

MRMC’s 5th annual ER Kids Health and Safety Fair

Moberly Regional Medical Center’s fifth annual ER Kids Health and Safety Fair was a huge success! Approximately 510 kids participated in this year’s fair, along with 37 area organizations. Smile Dental was represented by Dr Liebhart, Andrea and Roni. A Kids Sonicare toothbrush was given away by Smile Dental at the event. More than 250 stuffed animals handed out in the Teddy Bear Clinic, 300 bike helmets, many toothbrushes were given away, along with 1,050 hotdogs, 1,776 bottles of water, a bounce houses, games, educational information, cotton candy, Scholastic book distribution, and so much more… the attendees received a wealth of information on how to stay healthy and keep safe.
